Your IPSC training companion — stage scoring, zero work, and session history on iPhone
Overview
HitFactor is a local-only app. Everything you enter—stage scores, Zero/Grouping sessions, saved stage setup photos, stage templates, load data, notes, target photos, and links to run videos in your photo library—stays on your iPhone. The app does not require an account, does not connect to HitFactor servers, and does not upload your data anywhere.
No data transmission
HitFactor does not send any information you enter in the app to the internet, to HitFactor, or to any third party. There is no background sync, cloud backup, or remote storage built into the app. Your data never leaves your device unless you choose to share or export it yourself—for example, by emailing a session report, sharing a setup card image, or exporting a backup zip through the iOS share sheet or Files app.
Data stored on your device
The app stores the following on your device only: saved sessions (stage scores from stages you have designed for training, plus Zero/Grouping sessions—up to 50, with optional lock to keep them when deleting others); saved setups (stage layout photos captured at matches for your own reference—up to 50); stage templates (saved target layouts with optional photos, without scores or time—up to 20); in-progress Stage and Zero drafts (cleared each time the app is relaunched by default, or kept between launches if you enable Remember drafts between launches in Settings); photos attached to stages, targets, templates, or Zero sessions; and run video links (a reference to a video in your photo library—not a copy of the video file). Multi-string session data and what-if hit factor calculations used during scoring are stored only as part of your saved sessions or in-progress drafts. Nothing is copied to external servers. If you delete the app from your iPhone, all data stored by HitFactor—including saved sessions, saved setups, stage templates, drafts, photos, and video links—is permanently removed from your device.
Photos, camera, and video library access
If you choose to add photos—for saved stage setups, stage setup photos, stage templates, individual target photos, or Zero/Grouping target photos—the app accesses your camera or photo library only when you request it. If you link a run video to a saved session, the app reads a video you select from your photo library and stores a reference to it on your device. The video file itself is not copied into HitFactor; playback uses your photo library through iOS. Images and video references remain on your device unless you share them through email, a setup card, a backup export, or another iOS share action you initiate.
Sharing, email, and backup
When you email session results, the app prepares a formatted report that may include scores, load details, and any photos attached to that session. When you share a setup card, the app generates a branded image from a saved setup on your device. When you export a backup, the app creates a zip file containing your sessions, saved setups, stage templates, and drafts—including any run video references stored with sessions. Content is passed to the iOS Mail, share sheet, or Files app under your control. Import backup reads a zip file you select on your device and restores its contents locally. HitFactor does not send, upload, or restore data without your action.
Analytics
HitFactor does not include third-party analytics, advertising trackers, or any code that collects or transmits your usage data in the current version of the app.
